They Call Me Mellow Yellow...

When Jess was visiting this summer, she came upon an Amber cabachon in my box of stones and asked if I would make her a necklace. After learning the setting technique I showed you a couple of posts ago, I decided to use it again for this design. But I made some major changes, and also left the back open to let the light of the amber come shining through.

Supposedly, jewelry worn on the body (touching skin), such as necklaces, bracelets or rings formed from amber nuggets, can have a strong chemical effect. Amber necklaces closely sticking to the body around the neck are said to have a beneficial effect on thyroid illness. Well, it can't hurt...and they're pretty, too.

And one more...just ONE MORE time...for this design. But now with more 18K Gold! (Did I become obsessed?)
